The Soyosoyo SACCO Story
Soyosoyo SACCO began on July 15, 1998 as SOYOSOYO MEDICARE CO-OPERATIVE SAVINGS & CREDIT SOCIETY. From the start, members came together to pool savings and access affordable credit, especially for family medical needs.
As the fund matured, the SACCO expanded beyond healthcare support to finance education and other priority goals, reflecting changing member needs across the community.
With membership spreading across the Kenyan Coast, operations became more complex. At the same time, NHIF coverage reduced the original medical financing pressure, and the SACCO entered a quieter phase.
In 2022, founding members renewed their commitment and began rebuilding the institution with a clearer structure and refreshed objectives.
That effort led to a formal relaunch on April 10, 2024. Rebranded and repositioned, Soyosoyo SACCO now serves a wider mission: practical financing for medical care, education, agriculture, enterprise, and development.
Today, Soyosoyo SACCO continues to evolve as a trusted member-first financial partner focused on resilience, discipline, and shared prosperity.
